The Garden Is Blooming Again

With spring’s arrival, Emma’s Hof City Garden undergoes a weekly transformation. Residents are rediscovering the garden, and the nearly one hundred volunteers are busier than ever, maintaining the space and organizing community events.

It’s the perfect time to grab your camera and explore. You might even discover the three themes that shape Emma’s Hof: Get Together, Volunteers, and Nature in the City.

Together in the Garden

Emma’s Hof is a place of tranquility and encounter. It is the result of the time and effort of many neighbors who have worked together to create and maintain this garden.

The garden belongs to everyone and is for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a beautiful place to relax with a book, want to spend time with your children, or are eager to roll up your sleeves and contribute to the community, you are welcome here.

We ask that you feel a sense of responsibility for the garden. Please adhere to our house rules, treat the plants and animals with care, and leave the garden as beautiful as you found it. Respect the peace of our neighbors whose gardens and balconies adjoin this space.

If you find it a pleasant place, we invite you to get involved. As a volunteer, you can contribute to the garden in a flexible manner, meet new people, and work in nature right in the middle of the city. Or become a ‘Friend’ with an annual donation, and help us preserve and enhance this beautiful garden.

The submissions will be judged by a professional jury, experts in art and photography.

competition CONDITIONS

Participation in the Emma’s Hof City Garden photo contest implies agreement with the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

The photo contest runs from March 21 to May 31, 2024, and is organized by Emma’s Hof City Garden.

Participation in the contest is free of charge and takes place via the Emma’s Hof website.


Participants must be at least 18 years old or have permission from their parent(s).


Each participant may submit only one photo per category. There are three categories.


The professional jury will select the winners.


To be eligible, the photo must be taken in Emma’s Hof and have been created by the participant themselves. By participating, the participant confirms they own the copyright.


The award ceremony will take place in June 2024. The prize is a High Tea in Emma’s Hof for two people. Winners will be notified by email.


Emma’s Hof City Garden reserves the right to use submitted photos in communication channels and to mention the first name of winners.


Participants agree to the rules and conditions by participating.


Personal data will be treated confidentially and used only for communication about the photo contest.


No correspondence can be entered into regarding the results.


If there is no response within 14 days, Emma’s Hof City Garden reserves the right to award the prize to another candidate.
